The Legacy of African Women Writers with Dr. Frieda Ekotto
African women writers from all corners of the globe have always explored, theorized, documented, visualized and archived their people’s creativity and resilience. They write to uncover cultural and historical memories that have shaped their subjectivities as well as to depict relations of violence and domination that their communities are subjected to daily. Together with Dr. Frieda Ekotto,  Associate Chair of Department of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan, we will learn how despite what has happened historically, African women continue to produce culture, particularly narratives.
