Hope and the High Holidays: Improving Ourselves and the World
Explore the relationship between hope and the process of improving ourselves (teshuvah) in this program led by author and psychologist David Arnow and taking place between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, a time of reflection, renewal and repentance on the Jewish calendar. We’ll also explore what author, David Arnow calls “a theology for looking in the mirror” as well as the ancient roots of tikkun olam, or repairing the world. The program will combine both presentation and group discussion of material included in a version of the study guide to Arnow’s Choosing Hope: The Heritage of Judaism that has been specially prepared for this program. People of all backgrounds are welcome to participate. No need to have read or purchased Choosing Hope.
