Writing Workshop
DOROT's writing workshop encourages writers of all genres to share and improve their writing in a supportive, structured environment. Each week we will meet to workshop participants’ pieces and give feedback on their poems, essays, or memoirs. We will work as two groups (Group A & Group B) who will alternate sharing their work with the class. We will read this writing outside of our meeting, so we can focus on discussing the pieces in person. In this way, we'll come prepared to support each other and give constructive feedback.

Requirements: Participants are asked to submit one piece of writing every two weeks. This can be a poem, essay, or memoir at a maximum length of 1,500 words or three pages (double spaced). If you're submitting poetry, you may submit up to three one-page poems. If you’re working on a longer project, you are welcome to submit an excerpt each week. Participants are also asked to read each other’s work before the session. The pieces to respond to will be sent immediately after our meeting each week, so you will have a week to read them before our next session.
